New Orleans Cruise

New Orleans Cruise

Day 1

Today is Russell birthday. He turned 41!!!
We celebrated last night at Chuy's restaurant.
Yum!!!

Russell's parents were here for the past few days.  They came for Grandparents Day at the girls school.  They're so great. They came all the way from Georgia just to go to the school for 2 hours.  They left this morning to back home.

We are on our way to New Orleans to take a Carribean cruise with the kids and our friends - The Claytons.  We are SO excited. We've been planning this for a long time.

We have left Tulsa and beginning our long 11 hour, 700 mile drive to NOLA.  We are trying to make it to Baton Rouge tonight to meet some friends for dinner who we met on a camping trip last year.  We left our house at 8:45 this morning, stopped at QT for gas and breakfast, and got on the road.

We arrived in Baton Rouge at 6:00pm which was really great time considering I led us on a wrong turn about 22 miles out of the way.
We found found a nice Holiday Inn and met our friends for dinner at this fun Cajun place with a big tiger inside the front door. The food was good. The portions were huge. We had a nice visit with The Brady's.

Tomorrow we drive to New Orleans in the morning and meet Nate and Veronica and hang out there all day.

I think Russell had a pretty good birthday. He spent the whole day driving. But we only stopped twice and made great time which is what he likes. Maybe we'll get some carrot cake in the boat to celebrate. :)
